Parking Permit Information – Student Services

The 2021-2022 student parking permits will go on sale on Monday August 2.

Online parking registrations open on Monday, August 2, 2021. All vehicles parked on the Montclair State University campus must be registered with a valid Montclair State University permit or pay for daily parking.

Important information and registration details

Before registering, don’t forget:

  1. Review your options license online before registering.
  2. Read and understand the Parking regulations that relate to your license.
  3. To see the Parking plan to understand the layout of the campus before the start of the semester.
  4. Review the Shuttle Services Website and the Parking website for other on-campus and off-campus transportation options, such as Zipcar and other forms of public transport.
  5. Download the parker app and umo app for campus navigation.
  6. People with disabilities (PWD) no longer need to be checked by parking services to obtain a permit. A Montclair State parking permit must be purchased and a valid state issued license plate or hang tag must be displayed for parking in all PWD spaces.

Please note: It is your responsibility to read and follow the Parking regulations and to ensure that all vehicle information is up to date.

Types of permits and prices

Permits can be obtained on the Parking Services website starting Monday, August 2. Please expect delays via the web as we expect higher than normal traffic. All permits will be active from Wednesday September 1, 2021 to Tuesday May 31, 2022.

* Red Hawk Parking Garage Permits are in high demand and in limited supply. Permits are purchased on a first come, first served basis and will close when the limit is reached.

**Residents with less than 29 credits will not be allowed to have vehicles on campus due to limited parking spaces. You can fill in a exception request form for extenuating circumstances from Monday August 2. Only medical exceptions will be considered. If you are requesting medical exceptions without a New Jersey-issued hang tag, you should contact the Disability Resource Center with documentation to consider for other permit options.
