LOCK HAVEN PA — The varsity athlete designations presented by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference at Lock Haven have been awarded to four Collegeville residents, two from Harleysville and Limerick, and one from Pottstown, Royersford, Schwenksville and Green Lane, the organization recently announced.
A record 4,144 athletic scholars were recognized this year among the conference’s 18 member colleges, he added. To be eligible, 2021-22 student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.25 at the end of the academic year.
Named to the varsity athlete rosters were, from:
- Commonwealth University in Mansfield, Shay Gustafson of Collegeville and David Kilroy of Green Lane, both members of its baseball team;
- Commonwealth University in Bloomsburg, Brandon Ernst of Limerick, a member of its baseball team; Mary Kate Mooney of Royersford, volleyball team, Maya Fulmer and Caitlin Leap, both of Collegeville, women’s lacrosse team; Harleysville’s Justin Ziegler, men’s cross country and track and field teams; Hailey Hudak of Schwenksville, women’s basketball team; Elizabeth Turner of Collegeville, women’s swim team; and Bruno Stolfi of Harleysville, wrestling team; and
- Commonwealth University at Lock Haven, Matthew Muthler of Pottstown, member of the men’s track and field team; and Ashley Lawson of Limerick, women’s golf team.
Commonwealth University represents an “integration” of the universities of Bloomsburg, Lock Haven and Mansfield under one banner, which came into effect in July 2022.
